When you want wine, you go to France. When you want spaghetti, you go to Italy. And when you want steel cased ammo, you go to Russia. Well, don’t actually go there – order this case of 308 Win by Tula online instead.

This round’s cozy price tag comes from its economical steel content. Its 150 grain bullet has a bimetal jacket: strengthened on the inside by steel, coated on the outside with a thin layer of protective copper. Bimetal bullets have a slight chance of making sparks when they brush up against a hard surface, which is the main reason some ranges ban them. Like any normal FMJ, this round’s bullet is optimal for range training and target practice.

This round’s shell casing is also made of steel. It’s coated with heat resistant polymer to help it feed and extract smoothly, and it’s magnetic – wave a magnet on a stick around like you’re using a metal detector to search for buried treasure, and you’ve just cleaned up your backyard after a shooting session. A steel casing won’t be of any help at a reloading bench, but for the majority of shooters who don’t own a reloading bench, that’s not a problem.

Many people notice that a round has a Berdan primer and wonder if it’s corrosive. That’s not the case with Tula! Their Berdan primers are non-corrosive and won’t wash corrosive salts all over your rifle’s action and bore.

These rounds are packaged 500 to a single case, with no individual packaging. They’re not in a jumbled mess, but stacked neatly with little plastic spacers.
