RPK, RPD, SKS and AK-47 – without 7.62x39 ammo, these firearms are just Russian engineered paperweights. When you want to do the Bolshevik bang bang bang, you need look no further than Barnaul!

Barnaul avoids putting very much copper into their ammo, which is why it costs less than the brass-cased 7.62x39 you can get from Eastern Europe and the USA. This ammo’s 123 grain bullets are super powerful and consistent enough for a good time needling targets, although their magnetic bi-metal jackets do limit the number of ranges you’ll be able to bring this ammo to.

Barnaul also loads steel cases. These help to bring down the ammo’s price tag a lot, and Barnaul coats their cases in lacquer for smoother cycling and improved resistance to corrosion. Steel doesn’t expand as effectively as brass during ignition, which means (A) it lets more carbon fouling into the chamber, and (B) it’s pretty much impossible to reload without special equipment and the patience of a saint. This ammo’s primers are completely non-corrosive.
