Description

Seasoned shooters know the drill – if it comes from Russia on a steel casing, it’s probably a magnetic bullet. They know that a lot of ranges refuse magnetic bullets, because the steel they contain can damage equipment, create sparks, and ricochet back at the firing line, none of which is good for a range’s business.

Traditionally magnetic bullets have prevented shooters from taking advantage of economical Russian ammo, but not anymore! This Red Army Standard 7.62×39 cartridge’s 122 grain FMJ bullet contains no steel at all, and is rather simply a lead core with a non-ferrous brass jacket that won’t attract a magnet or otherwise misbehave like steel might have.

This round is still a delight for the budget-conscious shooter, as it features the steel shell casing that Russia is famous for making. Steel’s detractors would point out that it’s non-reloadable, and that it doesn’t expand to seal a chamber as neatly as brass could have. Shooters who like holding onto a better portion of their hard won dough, and who possess rugged AK-47s which present no issue as they guzzle down steel shell casings, love ammo like Red Army Standard’s nevertheless. A great choice for your Kalash the next time you want to make it go chickety-chickety-chak down at the rifle range!

Please note: We indicate this ammo is nonmagnetic to highlight its exceptional bullet, but its steel casing will of course make it still draw a magnet.
